Numerology: Good Number Bad Number | Which Number is Better One?

One may ask that which birth number or life path number is better one? Which is the bad number in numerology?

The answer to this question is not simple. Every number has its own unique positive and negative qualities. A person having any of the numbers can have positive or negative qualities of the number. If a person has developed positive qualities of his number, then that number is better for him. But if he has developed negative qualities of the same number, then that number not a good number for him.

However, some of the numbers are considered as better numbers as the possessors of those numbers can achieve their goals easily and with less struggle. On the other hand, the possessors of some specific numbers have to struggle in life and have to face many problems.

Number 11 and 22 as birth number or life path number are considered as very good numbers. These numbers are known as Master Numbers and the possessor can do an unbelievable work in his field.

For an easy and successful life, following Birth or Life Path numbers with its positive qualities are considered as good numbers: 1, 3, 6.

Further, the numbers 2, 5, 7 with positive qualities are also better numbers, but not as good as the above numbers.

From material point of view, 4 is not a better number, but the possessor of this number can contribute a lot in his field of work.

Number 9 is a great number, but its possessor has to struggle for a long period to achieve success.

From material point of view, 8 is a better number. It is number of power. But the possessor can face many obstacles in his life, especially obstacle related to family and health.

Further, we should remember that in numerology, everybody has three numbers, namely Birth Number, Life Path Number and Name Number. Chances are that everybody has got one or more good numbers. One can change his Name number by changing spelling of his name, or adopting a new name and thus can get a better name number. In case of birth number and life path number one should develop the positive qualities and stay away from negative qualities of the numbers he posses.

Numerology is one of the ways to read a person.  A numerologist can read a person just by knowing the person’s full date of birth, i.e. Date, Month and Year. Moreover, he can read a person by knowing the person’s name.

A numerologist can tell the positive and negative qualities of the person, his/her general behavior, attitude, interests and can guide the person for his/her betterment. He can guide the person in choosing the right career, spouse, partners and friends.  Many things going to happen in the person’s future life can be predicted at some extent. 


Further, there are some special numbers which are not reduced to single digit. Such numbers are very powerful and they are known as Master Numbers. The most powerful Master Numbers are 11 and 22.

Birth Number
First Number is known as Birth Number. It is simply the single digit total of the numbers in the monthly date of birth. For example, if your date of birth is 10, then your birth number is 1+0 =1. If it is 15, then your Birth Number is 1+5= 6.  So just add the numbers in your date of birth and you will get your Birth Number. Obviously, if you were born on the dates between 1 to 9, i.e. on a single digit date, then the date itself is your Birth Number.

Birth Number is also known as Root Number, Basic Number, Personality Number etc.

Life Path Number
Second important number for reading a personality is Life Path Number. Your life path number is the single digit total of your full date of birth. For example, if your date of birth is 16 th December 1971, then in numbers it is 16.12.1971. When we add all these numbers, we get the sum of 1. (1+6+1+2+1+9+7+1=28=2+8=10=1+0=1)

Life path Number is also known as Destiny Number, Fortune Number etc.

Name Number
The third important number is Name Number. It is calculated by the specific numbers of every letter in your name. In the easiest system, the position number of a letter in English Alphabets is given to the letter, like 1 for A, 2 for B…. and 26/8 for Z.

Take the name Sunita for example.

S=19=10=1
U=21=3
N=14=5
I= 09=9
T= 20=2+0=2
A =01=1
Total: 21=2+1=3

So the Name number if Sunita is 3.

While calculating a person’s name number, both the first name and last name is considered.

All the 3 numbers put great impacts on the person. If a persons all three numbers are different, that means the person has the qualities of all the three numbers. If all the three numbers are same, then the qualities of that number are extremely concentrated in the person. If two numbers are same and one is different, that means the person has more qualities of former number supported by the qualities of the latter number.
